[BOWIE, Maryland - June 6, 2024] Medical Revenue Cycle Specialists (MRCS) is excited to announce a new collaboration with Howard University and the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) to offer an innovative, free course on Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) for the Fall 2024 semester, funded by the ONC. This partnership is part of the PHIT4DC initiative, designed to enhance healthcare education and professional development in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area.
The course, titled "Introduction to Revenue Cycle Management," will expand on previous PHIT4DC offerings by extending into a full-semester curriculum. This comprehensive course aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the revenue cycle process and its critical role in clinical practice, ensuring effective payment for services and supporting organizational financial health and compliance.
Kem Tolliver, CEO of MRCS, and Taya Gordon, Chief Revenue Officer of H4-Technology, will lead a free two-hour module on Coding & Billing, while both Taya and Kem will teach the rest of the free, virtual course. They will bring their extensive expertise to guide students through key topics, including health insurance reimbursement policies, contracting, credentialing, and current reimbursement methodologies.

Comprehensive overview of the Revenue Cycle Management process.

4 Credit Hours: Current Howard University students will receive 4 credit hours upon course completion.
Certifications: PHIT4DC students are eligible for free HIMSS and PCMH certifications.

Upon meeting an 80% attendance rate and completing all assignments and projects, participants will receive a PHIT4DC verified digital certificate of completion.
